The store
Can I buy beats or packs here?
Not yet. The store is opening soon. There are no products for sale and no checkout on this site. Matt will add real listings when he's ready.
What will you sell when it opens?
Beats, samples and sample packs from MATTER / MTM Records (Salt Lake City). You can look around this page in the meantime.
How will I pay later?
When sales go live, checkout details will be posted here. Right now there is nothing to buy and no way to pay on this site.
Licensing basics (draft)
What will a beat license cover?
A license to use the beat in your own song. MATTER keeps ownership of the beat. Draft leases are non-exclusive until someone takes exclusive rights. See the draft license summary (pending attorney review).
Which license tiers are you planning?
Draft ideas only — not for sale:
- Basic MP3 Lease — untagged MP3, limited streams.
- Premium WAV Lease — MP3 + WAV.
- Trackout Lease — MP3 + WAV + stems.
- Unlimited Lease — MP3 + WAV + stems, still non-exclusive.
- Exclusive Rights — by offer; beat comes off the store.

Do I have to credit MATTER?
Under the draft terms, yes: “Prod. by MATTER” in your song title or credits. MATTER also keeps 50% of the song's writer share (publishing). Sample packs and drum kits don't require credit.
Can I upgrade a license later?
Under the draft terms, yes — when purchases exist. Email MATTER once the store is selling.
Files & previews
What file formats will I get?
- MP3: untagged MP3 (320 kbps).
- WAV: full-quality untagged WAV.
- Stems / trackouts: the individual tracks of the beat, in one .zip.
- Samples, drum kits & loop kits: one .zip (each listing will say what's inside).
Nothing is downloadable for purchase yet.
Will previews be tagged?
Yes. When previews appear, they'll be tagged and may be lower quality so they can't be used in releases. Purchase files (when available) will be untagged.
How will delivery work?
Delivery details will be posted when the store starts selling. Draft policy notes are on the Refund & delivery page (draft). For now, email MTMRecords@gmail.com with questions.
Studio time & collabs
How do I book studio time with MATTER?
MATTER records, mixes and engineers. Request a session by email (Studio time request) with your dates, service and links to your music, or use the Book Studio button.
How do I ask about a feature or collab?
Email a collab request with your artist name, links to your music, what you want to work on, and your budget and timeline. The Collab button pre-fills this for you.
